Almost there.

30 days to go.

Everything is coming together. The nursery is almost finished. The baby clothes have been washed, folded and put away. We just need to wait for our little boy to arrive.

We had a Dr. apt on Tuesday. Everything is looking good. He is head down, which is a relief!!! I have always measured about a centimeter and a half small (basically I'm measuring 34 1/2 weeks instead of 36) my Dr. isn't to concerned since I have continued to grow each visit, but she is awesome and is going to give us an ultrasound at our next apt. She said since we haven't had one since we were 20 weeks along that we might as well. So I am counting down the days until Tuesday!!!! Now we'll get to see him and have an idea of how big he is, I JUST CAN'T WAIT!

We are both staying busy with work. Sitting at a desk all day can be quite exhausting, who would have thought, but at least I'm able to sit and I'm not walking around all day at the mall! I am planning on working up until the day I have him, the hospital is about 3 min from our house and about 5 from my work, being so close is very reassuring.

The few things left to do are; pack my bag for the hospital, pick out a stroller, and clean and organize the house. My goal is to stay busy, which won't be to hard with Thanksgiving, and decorating for Christmas is fast approaching. At least I am hoping it will help keep me busy.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the fun showers I've had or that I will have. I really appreciate all you've done. Thankyou Chelsea, Brittnee, Pam, Emily, Alicia, Sharon, Susan, Katie, Kara, Carlie, Tori, Mom, and Kristi!!!! They have helped so much!

This isn't a very good picture, but its all we have. I have got to figure out the right settings for the camera.

Bryce the Runner

Although Bryce says that he can't be considered a runner until he has ran a marathon, I will still call him one. He has ran in quite a few races this summer; the first being a 10k and he has worked his way to a half marathon and 2 day relay races, with some others inbetween. He always does really well, and with each race he keeps getting better. His goal is to run a marathon, which he'll probably do next spring. The last race he'll do this year will be the Human Race on Thanksgiving morning. We did it last year with some friends and it was a lot of fun. I will be about 37 weeks along for Thanksgiving this year so I will be sitting it out. I'll just be there to cheer him on at the finish line!

In St. George for the Redrock relay over Labor Day weekend.

baby update

A few weeks ago we had our big ultrasound apt, and then on Monday we had a regular checkup. They both went great, our little guy is right on track to where he needs to be. We got a ton more pictures and a dvd. It makes me a little sad to think that we aren't going to have any more ultrasounds. The next time we see him will be in December........unless I cave and we take a trip to fetal fotos.

I am still feeling really good, I feel like I am starting to get a little bit of a waddle. My tummy has grown quite a bit over the last 3 weeks, maybe I will post a side view here shortly. We still can't decide on a name, we do like the same ones, but actually choosing is so hard. We have added a few more to the list so we are making some progress. At the begining of the month I felt and saw him kick for the first time! Its my favorite thing, he is on a little schedule, each night around 9 I lay on my back and he starts kicking and punching away.

We have the crib, changing table, bassinett, and recliner for the nursery. So this Saturday we are going to start the construction. Updates will follow!

Sad Week

It has been a sad week for the Maughan family. Last Friday Bryce's uncle Ron, and his cousins Jed and Jordan were killed in a plane crash. They were taking a fishing trip to Washington and never made it there. The plane went down a few miles past the Idaho border in Oregon. Ron left a wife and 4 daughters and numerous grandchildren, Jed was newly engaged and Jordan who is only 26 left behind a beautiful wife Shelley and 3 little kids ages 4, 2 and 3 months. A donation account has been set up for Shelley and a trust fund has been set up for the kids.

Please donate. For information and updates from the family go to http://www.wherearethemingos.blogspot.com/

a little baby boy is on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep........we're expecting and are so excited.

I am a little over 17 weeks along and am due on Dec 18th. We were able to go in on Tuesday and found out its a little boy. We were both sort of hoping for a boy, but Bryce was definitely a happy man, when the u/s lady said ITS A BOY he had this huge smile on his face and held his fist high in the air, he is a proud dad already. I wish I would have had the camera! The baby was moving all around and had his legs crossed at his ankles and his hands up by his face.....it was so cute. I keep waiting for when I can feel him kick, but I've read with your first I may not be able to until week 20 or later........but I'll keep my fingers crossed for sooner.

We go in for our 20 week apt on the 28th and that's when they will take all of his measurements and make sure everything looks good. I can't wait to see him again!

a little update.

I figured even though not to much is going on right now, a might as well give a little update.

Bryce had a birthday, so we are now the same age for the next 7 months :) Not that I really care that I'm older, it's just nice to be the same age again!! :) We also sold my car the first part of May, and after having absolutely no desire and also a strong fear of learning to drive a stick, I can announce I have successfully driven myself to work at least 4 times now (although I do take the longer route to avoid bangerter highway). I feel very accomplished.

Gus and Sofie are doing good, their highlight of the day, when we let them out, is to go outside in the front yard and catch bugs. In our bedroom we have two wardrobe closets that are about 9 ft tall. It is Gus's favorite thing to jump up on top and watch out the window. He used to do this every once in a while, but lately he spends the better part of his day up there. The past few nights he has been getting up there while we are sleeping. Well his only way down is to jump on the bed and every time he does he bounces up because he has so much force from jumping from so high.

Well for two nights now Gus gets himself up there and I'm sure waits as long as he can before he needs to get down, but I have been awaken with a hefty kitty landing on my stomach!!

Anyways the past few months we have had some little projects through out the house so I will have to post some pics of how they turned out.

OBVIOUSLY IM NOT DOING NUMBER 6.

I'M HORRIBLE.

I'M SORRY.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

This year I'm doing it.

So I've never been big with the, its a new year, now let me commit to all the things I want to fix. I have occasionally thought to myself of the things I would like to work on, but this year will be different. I am going to actually commit, and come up with an action plan on how to accomplish them.

So here they are: There is no order to these.

Learn to be patient. In all situations. I always feel I need to know everything at any given moment.

Keep my house clean. I'm great at cleaning it, but two days later I start to lose it.

Live within my means. I started this one in Nov, I havent shopped for clothes since I quit bebe on Oct 2nd, and it feels great. It's really empowering to exercise self control.

Stop worrying about everything. I have always been a worrier. I just need to recognize the situations that I can control and realize some things are just out of my hands.

Stregthen my testimony. I will commit to reading and studying the entire BOM by Dec. 31st 2009. I have never done this, and its something I'm really ashamed of. This will be the year.

Be a better blogger. I am so horrible with updating mine and commenting on yours. I really enjoy reading what everyone is up to, I will be much better with keeping you guys updated with what we're doing.

Live in the moment. I always find myself looking to the future, wondering whats next, instead of enjoying my life now. Why do I do this? This is my top priority this year.

My list may get longer, Ill probably just add, as I think of a few more over the next few days.

I look forward to 2009.........Its so wierd how every year I look back and notice how much wiser I am now, or how different I feel now about a situation I was so sure of, nothing could have changed my mind at the time. I serioulsy do this every year. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great 2009! I hope we can all make the most of it.
